WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Bible

The Church

The Bible

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally (every word)  and plenary (every portion equally) inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible  and God-breathed. The Scriptures are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of  the Old and New Testaments are the complete and divine revelation of God to man We believe that the Scriptures have been Divinely preserved in the same Holy purity in which  God originally inspired them. The preserved form of the Scriptures for English speaking people  is only the King James Authorized Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 12:6-7; Matthew 24:35; 1 Peter 1:24-25

The Church

The Bible

God

We believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, each co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the  same attributes and perfections. Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14; John  14:10:26

 God the Father

He is Creator of Heaven and Earth. He is perfect in holiness. He is infinite in wisdom. He is rich in Grace. He is supreme in love. He is measureless in Power. He is concerned and merciful regarding the affairs of mankind. He hears and answers prayer. He saves those who come to  Him through faith in His Son, Jesus Christ.

The Lord Jesus Christ... God the Son

We believe that the LORD Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God. He was conceived by the Holy Ghost and born of Mary while she was still a virgin. All this was accomplished that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men. We believe that the LORD Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the  cross as a representative, vicarious (done or endured by someone as a substitute for someone  else), substitutionary sacrifice; and, that our justification was made sure by His literal, physical  resurrection from the dead. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand  of God, where He, as our High Priest, fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and  Advocate. Isaiah 7:14; Isaiah 9:6; Luke 1:35; John 1:1-2; John 1:14; 2 Corinthians 5:19-21;  Galatians 4:4-5; Philippians 2:5-8; Acts 2:18-36; Romans 3:24-25; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3-5;  Acts 1:9-10; Hebrews 7:25; Hebrews 9:24 Romans 9:34; 1 John 2:1-2

 God the Holy Ghost

We believe that the Holy Ghost is a person who convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and  of judgment. We believe that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration. We believe that He  baptizes all believers into the body of Christ and indwells and seals them unto the day of  redemption. We believe that the Holy Ghost is the Divine Teacher who assists believers to understand and  appropriate the Scriptures. We believe it is the privilege and duty of all saved individuals to be filled with the Spirit. We believe that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and the gift of  healing, were temporary. We believe that speaking in tongues was never the common or necessary sign of the baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit. Though God frequently chooses to  answer the prayers of believers for physical healing, ultimate deliverance of the body from  sickness or death awaits the consummation of our salvation in the resurrection. We believe that God is sovereign in the bestowal of spiritual gifts to every believer. God  uniquely uses evangelists, pastors, and teachers to equip believers in the assembly in order that  they can do the work of the ministry. John 16:8-11; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12-14; 2  Corinthians 3:6; Ephesians 1:13-14; Ephesians 1:17-18; Ephesians 5:18; 1 John 2:20-27; 1  Corinthians 1:22; 1 Corinthians 13:8; 1 Corinthians 14:21-22; Romans 12:3-8; I Corinthians  12:4-11, 28; Ephesians 4:7-12

The Church

The Church

The Church

We believe that the local church is solely made up of born-again people. We believe that the establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and  defined in the New Testament Scriptures. We believe in the autonomy of the local church free of any external authority of control. We recognize water baptism (total immersion in water) and the Lord's Supper (unleavened  bread and grape juice) as the Scriptural ordinances of obedience for the Church in this age. 1  Corinthians 12:12-14; 2 Corinthians 11:2; Ephesians 1:22-23; Ephesians 5:25-27; Acts 14:27;  Acts 20:17; Acts 20:28-3; I Timothy 3:1-13; Titus 1:5-11; Acts 13:1-4; Acts 15:19-31; Acts 20:28;  Romans 16:1,4; 1 Corinthians 3:9,16; 1 Corinthians 5:4-7,13; 1 Peter 5:1-4; Matthew 28:19-20;  Acts 2:41-42; Acts 18:18; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26

Salvation

Eternal security and assurance of believers

The Church

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam's sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and, that man is  totally depraved, and of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal  faith in the LORD Jesus Christ, Whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness  of our sins. We believe salvation is made possible totally and completely by the mediatorial (the act of  working with two separated parties in order to achieve reconciliation) work of Jesus Christ, Who  Himself was without sin, yet He bore our sins as our sin substitute. We believe that salvation is offered freely to all men. We believe that, in order to be saved, sinners must be regenerated or "born again" by the Spirit  of God. The Holy Spirit's regeneration does an invisible work in the heart of the new believer,  giving them an appreciation and a capacity to understand the things of God. We believe there is nothing that prevents the greatest of sinners from receiving this gift of  salvation except his own pride and rejection of the Gospel. We believe the regeneration will be evidenced by holy fruits in the subsequent life of the  believer. We believe that repentance and faith are sacred duties, and also inseparable graces, wrought in  our souls by the regenerating Spirit of God. Being deeply convinced of our guilt, danger, and  helplessness, we turn to God with unfeigned contrition, confession and supplication for mercy.  Knowing the way of salvation by Christ, we heartily receive Him as our Saviour. Genesis 1:26- 27; Romans 3:22-23; Romans 5:12; Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3; Ephesians 4:17-19; John  1:12; Ephesians 1:7; Ephesians 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19 ; Isaiah 53:4-12; 2 Corinthians 5:21;  Hebrews 9:13-15; 1 Peter 2:24; Isaiah 55:1; John 3:16; 1 Timothy 2:4; 2 Peter 3:9; John 5:40;  Matthew 23:37; John 3:3,5; Titus 3:5; Romans 2:28-29; 2 Corinthians 5:17; Matthew 7:15-23;  Galatians 5:22-23; 1 John 5:4-18; Mark 1:15; Luke 18:13; Acts 3:22-23; Romans 10:9-13;  Hebrews 4:14

Eternal security and assurance of believers

Eternal security and assurance of believers

Eternal security and assurance of believers

We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever. We believe that the redeemed may lose his rewards due to failure in his service to Christ, but  this in no way endangers or jeopardizes the salvation of the soul. We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God's Word, which, however, clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh. John 6:37-40; John 10: 27-30; Romans 8:1; Romans 8:38-39; I  Corinthians 1:4-8; 1 Peter 1:4-5; I Corinthians 3:15; 2 John 8; Romans 13:13-14; Galatians 5:13;  Titus 2:11-15

Eternity

Eternal security and assurance of believers

Eternal security and assurance of believers

We believe that both Heaven and Hell are literal places described in much detail in the Word of God. All of mankind will spend eternity in one place or the other. Those who have received  Christ as Saviour will go to Heaven. Those who have not will go to Hell. We believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to  judgment and everlasting punishment. We believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with  the LORD, where in conscious bliss they await the first resurrection, when spirit, soul, and body  are reunited to be glorified forever with the LORD. We believe that the souls of unbelievers remain, after death, in conscious punishment and  torment until the second resurrection, when with the soul and body reunited they shall appear at  the Great White Throne Judgment, and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated,  but to suffer everlasting conscious punishment and torment. Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29; John 11:25-26; Revelation 20:5-6; Revelation 20:12-13; Luke 23:43; 2 Corinthians 5:8; Philippians  1:23; Philippians 3:21; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17; Revelation 20:4-6; Matthew 25:41-46; Mark  9:43-48; Luke 16:19-26; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-9; Jude 6-7; Revelation 20:11-15
